A Summer Holiday in Greece

Summer is fast approaching, so it is time to plan your summer holiday for the year, or maybe just one of them! Greece and the Greek Islands offer a wide variety of holiday fun and amusement for just about everyone. Whether it's something quiet and peaceful you're looking for or lively and buzzing, then Greece is the place for you.

A City Break
Athens offers a lot of great places of interest and makes the perfect city break. Athens is home to some great shopping malls and high street stores, as well as traditional and modern sites to visit. As the capital city of mainland Greece, Athens has it all: shops, tradition, history, museums, nightlife, restaurants and luxury. However, Athens is not the best place to go if you are looking for a break and time to escape it all!

Half Way to Heaven
Kefalonia (or Cephalonia) is a good half way place to visit if you want the best of both world or if you need to keep other members of the party happy for the duration of the holiday. Kefalonia has a balanced mixture of entertainment aimed towards the foreign tourists, life and entertainment and also the chance to get away from it all too. There are parts of the island which were made for tourists and whereyou will see a lot of people and life and multicultural restaurants. However, if you feel the need to get away from it all, you could drive just a few miles inland to a more rural area to get some real peace and quiet.

Complete Peace and Quiet
Spetses is one of Greece's undiscovered islands. Back in 2010, the former King of Greece, Constantine, got married on this tiny island. There is a very low amount of traffic here and there are restrictions on those who drive their own private vehicles on the island. Spetses is a very small island and is the perfect place to go if you are looking for complete peace and quiet. The island is located close to mainland Greece and regular ferry crossings connect the two. If you want to visit Spetses, then you would have to first fly or travel to mainland Greece and get the ferry across to Spetses.
