Even with the financial crisis, prices are high, and normal property investment rules just don't seem to apply here because of its exclusivity.

There are some apartments for 160,000 euros but villas generally start from 420,000 euros. However, even small villas can rent for 15,000 euros a week during the high months of the summer, so property is a sound investment. Mykonos has an international airport with flights from Athens taking 40 minutes. There are direct schedule and charter flights to Mykonos direct from the UK in the summer. There are regular ferries from the mainland to Mykonos, taking 5.5 hours: only 3.5 hours by hydrofoil.
