Time On Our Hands

As time passes, we are often left with that awful feeling that a long time has passed and what have we achieved?! If you are like one of many who seem to think that you haven't achieved as much as you would have liked after a certain period of time, then you are not on your own! We often get lost in other chores and distractions that leave us with very little time to deal with other tasks or allowing ourselves a little bit of 'me' time. Or perhaps you are unsure of how to occupy your time when you have free time? It is all about how you organise yourself and the time that is given to you.

Are You Bored?

One of the most commonly used phrases when people have so much spare time on their hands is often "I'm bored!" Although this phrase can be annoying to those who hardly have enough time to get a decent night's sleep, it is understandable that for some people, it is hard to keep yourself occupied for long periods of time. So how do you keep yourself occupied when you have nothing to do?

Start a New Hobby

If you don't already have a hobby-get one! Doing something that you enjoy will mean that hours will pass without you even realising. Finding a hobby that you enjoy doesn't have to be expensive. Some hobbies can be enjoyed at your own home or you may want to gather at a group to share and do your hobby with other people like yourself.

Learn Something New

When you haven't got anything to do, why not fill your time by doing something beneficial, that will earn you a possible qualification or offer you a new career direction. There are thousands of courses available to you and some can even be done from home if you prefer. Learning new skills can help you in a number of ways! You could make new friends if you join a college or group, get a new career, increase your earning potential and learn and enjoy the experience of something new.

Unfinished Business

When we are given free time, the last thing we really want to do is chores and errands. However, it is better to think that there is no time like the present and get them over and done with whilst you have the time, then when you have finished them you can enjoy the rest of your time for something else. Plus, you will feel much better when you have finished all of your uncompleted jobs.

Get Fit!
Most people rarely ever get enough exercise which really isn't good. Exercise is important at keeping us slim, healthy and is also great for our mind and moods too. Sport and fitness are known for giving us endorphins that boost our good mood and make us feel happier and more positive. So, next time when you have a few extra minutes to spare, go for a walk, jog, swim or anything that gets you moving!
